Deep red with purple hues.
A varietal nose featuring deep red berry fruits and toasty oak.
A rich and lively palate with bright fruits, cinnamon and spice cloves which linger on the palate with lovely soft tannins. The bright flavours burst with amazing freshness and texture, whilst the mid palate is quite full and highlights the chocolate fruitcake flavour which is so often associated with McLaren Vale reds. This wine is well structured and well balanced with the perfect amount of oak to allow clear expression of the vineyard, which is how we love to make wine.
Select parcels of fruit were sourced from four vineyard blocks across McLaren Vale. We picked the fruit in the cool of the night to ensure we maintained the regional flavours and aromatics that has made McLaren Vale Shiraz one of Australia’s most iconic regions. The wine was transferred to the winery where it was nurtured with extended time on skins. The wine was crushed into fermenters where fermentation was initiated by wild yeasts found on the grape skins. Once fermentation was completed, the wine was transferred into a mixture of American and French oak.
A wonderfully approachable wine upon release that will cellar well for at least another 6 years.
