2014 1L Shiraz
Deep crimson brick red with purple hues.
Ripe and sweet berry flavours of cherry and plum backed by toasty vanilla oak.
This Shiraz displays blueberry, violet and roast almond flavours. It is full and vibrant with a great balance between the fruit flavours and textured oak. The wine is further enhanced by a persistent and mouth filling savoury tannin structure, which will leave you wanting more.
The grapes were sourced from vineyards in the southern reaches of South Australia from vines aged between twenty-three and thirty years of age. The individual parcels were selected and harvested then fermented separately to ensure that each parcel articulated the unique character of each vine. All ferments were left on skins for a minimum of 7 days. During the subsequent oak maturation period in French and American new and old oak, each individual batch of barrels was racked and returned periodically to seamlessly integrate the tannins into the wine and to ensure that minimal filtration and no fining was required prior to bottling.
Drinking magnificently now, but will reward 4-6 years cellaring.
